The Lord Revealed
1 Corinthians 15:3-10
How does God reveal Himself to us?
- After the Resurrection:
- Revealed to Mary (John 20:15-18, CSB)
- “…I have seen the Lord!” (v. 18)
- Revealed to many (1 Corinthians 15:3-7, NKJV)
- “…seen by Cephas (Peter), then by the twelve.” (v. 5)
- “…seen by over five hundred brethren at once…” (v. 6)
- Revealed to Mary (John 20:15-18, CSB)
He continues to reveal Himself today.
- Revealed in His creation.
- Psalm 19:1-3 – “The heavens declare the glory of God” (v.1)
- Romans 1:19-20 – “…since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen…” (v. 20)
- Revealed in His Word.
- Luke 24:27 – “…He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.”
- John 5:39 – “the Scripture…testify of Me.”
- Revealed in His Son.
- Hebrews 1:1-3 – God has “…spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things…” (v. 2)
- Colossians 1:15 – “He is the image of the invisible God.”
- Revealed in us.
- Through His Spirit
- Romans 8:16 – “The Spirit Himself bears witness…we are children of God.”
- Through His Faithfulness
- 2 Timothy 2:11-13 – “…He remains faithful…” (v.13)
- Through His Salvation Romans 1:16
- Romans 1:16 – “…the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…”
- Through His Spirit
