AFFLICTED (v. 17)

• Self-inflicted
  • Because of their transgressions
  • Because of their iniquities
    • Isaiah 59:2
•  Foolishness
  • Psalm 14:1

ABHORRED (v. 18)

• Near death
  • Very sick
  • Spiritually dead
    • Proverbs 8:36
•  Their soul abhorred food
  • No appetite for meat
  • An appetite for prayer

ATTENDED (v. 19-20)

• Cried out in their trouble
• Saved out of their distress
• Healed by His Word
  • Matthew 8:16-17
  • Psalm 103:2-3
• Recovered from sickness and death

     “Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare His works with rejoicing.”
