I Am the Light of the World

John 8:12-30

“I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

• The Light Reveals –
  • Physically
  • Figuratively
  • Spiritually

The Light reveals the SON. (v. 12-17)

• A true witness. (v. 13-14)
• A true judgement. (v. 15-16
• A true testimony. (v. 17)

The Light reveals the FATHER. (18-27)

• One sent. (v. 18)
• One known. (v. 19)
• One sought. (v. 21-24)
• One truth. (v. 25-27)

The Light reveals the CROSS. (28-30)

• Lifted up. (v. 28)
• Not left alone. (v. 29)

         “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14–16)
