Gifted Servant – Salt and Light

Matthew 5:13-16

“You are the salt of the earth.” – “You are the light of the world.”

(Matthew 5:13, 14)

As believers, we are empowered to serve with the gift of being salt and the gift of being light.

YOU ARE SALT:

• Be Pure ( 13a)
  • Show righteousness.
    • Proverbs 21:21
  • Show grace.

•  Be Useful (v. 13b)
  • Maintain integrity.
  • Maintain righteousness.
    • Proverbs 20:7

YOU ARE LIGHT:

• Be an Example (v. 14)
  • Guard your tongue.
    • James 1:26
  • Guard your actions.
    • Philippians 4:8
•  So, be the Light (v. 15-16)
  • Show your light.
  • Share your light.
    • John 9:4–5
